PAMS at NC State University

The College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS) at North Carolina State University is a dynamic organization featuring high-quality teaching, research and public service.

We reach beyond the traditional classroom to provide the best educational opportunities for our students - whether in a campus facility outfitted with the latest instructional technologies, on the deck of a marine research vessel, or in the valley of the Rio Grande.

Our students enjoy a close-knit, small-school atmosphere with the full resources of a leading research university.

The Science House

The Science House is a national model for the interaction of university science departments and K-12 students and teachers. As the primary learning outreach program of PAMS, our mission is to increase student enthusiasm for science and mathematics by partnering with teachers and schools to promote hands-on, inquiry-based learning.

State Climate Office

The State Climate Office of North Carolina is the primary source for North Carolina weather and climate information and is involved in all aspects of climate research, education and extension services. Housed within PAMS, the State Climate Office is a public-service center of the University of North Carolina system.
