Become a permanent part of NC State history by reserving a commemorative brick on the Walk of Discovery.
This sidewalk of special bricks is located in front of the new Marye Anne Fox Undergraduate Science Teaching Laboratory (Fox USTL) building, at the corner of Yarbrough and Brooks Avenues. The Fox USTL houses state-of-the-art chemistry and physics laboratory facilities used by all students taking introductory courses in these fields.
Honoring the spirit of the experimental sciences, the Walk of Discovery provides an opportunity to recognize alumni, students, parents, grandparents, faculty, scholarship supporters and friends with a permanent reminder of their ties to NC State and to the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
Reserving a brick supports students!
Your purchase of each Walk of Discovery brick is fully tax deductible and will provide scholarship support for the College.
Bricks are laser etched.
The Walk of Discovery bricks are laser etched with up to three lines of text, provided by you on the order form. The laser actually melts the brick as it engraves the letters, leaving behind a super hard, black layer of melted silica.
See your brick the next time you come to campus!
The bricks are located near the entrance of the Fox USTL, and extend down the covered breezeway along the front of the building. As more bricks are ordered, they will be installed in this general area.
The bricks must be engraved and installed in large groups, so there wil be periods of time when brick orders are being collected for engraving. If you are coming to campus and would like to know if your brick has been installed, just call us at 919-515-3462 and we will check for you.
