As we approach the end of another year, I would like to thank you for your continued support of PAMS and ask you to consider making a year-end gift. Whether your contributions so far this year have been financial, physical, or intellectual – together, we have made 2008 a year to remember:
We dedicated a new wing of Jordan Hall for the Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and made great strides toward completing the new Mathematics and Statistics Building.
We marked the successful conclusion of the historic Achieve! Campaign for NC State, which raised more than $73 million for student and faculty support, facility and equipment upgrades, and research and outreach activities across the College.
Last, but certainly not least, we celebrated the achievements of our talented and dedicated students, faculty and friends. Highlights included two Fulbright grants; a Marshall Scholarship; and numerous NC State and UNC System honors, including a prestigious Watauga Medal and Holladay Medal of Excellence.
Although we will begin the new year in an economic climate that is less than ideal, I am confident that we will experience similar success in 2009. With the continued dedication and support of our faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends, we will persevere through our near-term economic challenges, and we will be stronger for the opportunity for self assessment they have provided.
It’s not too late to make a year-end gift to the PAMS Foundation to support the College. For more information or to make a gift today, please e-mail pams_dev@ncsu.edu, call 919-515-3462, or visit www.pams.ncsu.edu and click on the “Online gift form” on the left-hand side of the page.
On behalf of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, I offer best wishes for a healthy and prosperous new year!
