Deiters receives prestigious CAREER Award
Alexander Deiters, assistant professor of chemistry, has received a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation. The award is one of the highest honors given by NSF to young university faculty in science and engineering, and is intended to advance the development of their research and careers. PAMS student one of just 37 U.S. Gates Cambridge Scholars
Ryan Going, a senior double major in applied mathematics and electrical engineering, is a 2008 recipient of the Gates Cambridge Scholarship. The highly competitive scholarship program provides funding for students from around the world to pursue graduate study and research at the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s leading universities. NC State to host 2009 Einstein Lecture
The Department of Mathematics is hosting the American Mathematical Society’s 2009 Einstein Public Lecture in Mathematics on Saturday, April 4. This year’s Einstein Lecturer is Michael S. Waterman of the University of Southern California, presenting "Reading DNA sequences: Twenty-first century technology with eighteenth century mathematics." For more information, please click here.
College creates online payroll deduction form
PAMS faculty and staff support the College each day through their expertise and dedication. It’s now more convenient than ever for them to provide financial support, as well. The College’s new PDF payroll deduction form allows employees to support the PAMS Fund for Excellence or to earmark their gift to programs within their own department. The form, which can be found here, can be printed or e-mailed directly from the PAMS Web site.
