Diversity and Student Services
Welcome to the Office of Diversity and Student Services for the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at North Carolina State University!
The Office of Diversity and Student Services is a vehicle to enhance the student experience for all PAMS majors and to promote the recruitment, retention, and graduation of African Americans, Native Americans, Latinos, and any other minority students who are traditionally underrepresented in the physical and mathematical sciences. We assist students in the following disciplines:
- Marine, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
The Office sponsors many programs such as:
- Society of African American Physical and Mathematical Scientists (SAA-PAMS)
- Multicultural Visitation Day
- Kyran Anderson Academy (3rd - 6th grade)
- PAMS Student Ambassadors Program
- PAMS Council
- Recruiting Activities
- Research Opportunities
- Community Service Projects
The Office of Diversity and Student Services has facilitated the success of numerous students. Students have raised their GPAs, served as officers in university-wide organizations, and have assumed responsibility for being productive citizens. Alumni continue a tradition of excellence by earning graduate degrees and beginning careers. Alumni, now directing departments at Triangle corporations, reach out to the NC State College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences students. They serve as mentors and role models to these students, too.
Can't find the information you need on the website? Just want to talk to a real person instead of reading webpages? Our staff is eager to answer any of your questions about Diversity and Student Services within the college or across campus.
